BLAIR/ BIO

a hunt's surviving duck

is her tufted parallel self

                                                 (she grew a garden)

like her
she must start again
in a public pond

                                                 (sold ferns at the market)

with nothing but a crust
some stranger tossed

(took money from a hurried man)

who might in other moods
crush her neck
roast her breast
