KILLJOY

a joyride
in the night

vying for
victory like

a bloody cigar
on the racetrack

the delinquent
of your heart

meets the cow
boy of your mind

your body
the girlish hinge

of an elbow
and your brain

a point
of view

closer to
where joie

-de-vie feels
jagged

mistrusted
and misused

a nostalgic
pontification

rip in
your jeans

sharp jib
of the x-acto

undoing
form

is a form
of attack

nudging
yourself

with the tip
of an eraser

once you’ve
seen yourself

fully you
lose it’s

too
late

to be the
linchpin

read the
car honey

pull apart
the sandwich

miss lunch
monitor

bewitched silver
coins for eyes

lack of tact
like lightning

blinding
the rear

view mountains
of your old high

school parking lot
coming loose

in the backseat
foam stuffing

pink horrible
and porous

zip down
my heel

my frills in your
sweat pocket

tangled in
the teeth

of your
keys

manifest
what you

will never
be

a sharp
clearly

delineated
shape

against
the curtain

during god’s
invention

of that
horrid week

end
