Anthony Madrid has three books: There Was an Old Man with a Springbok (Prelude, 2019), Try Never (Canarium, 2017), and I Am Your Slave Now Do What I Say (Canarium, 2012). Forthcoming is Whatever's Forbidden the Wise, also Canarium. His poems have appeared in Best American Poetry, Boston Review, Fence, Harvard Review, and Poetry. He earned his PhD in English from the University of Chicago and teaches at the University of Houston-Victoria.
